How to make a media kit brands actually read

· 5 min read · Written by ODDBOX

A media kit is a one-page answer to a brand’s question: “Is this creator worth working with, and how do we start?” Keep it to five things: who you are, who follows you, proof of results, what you offer, and how to reach you. Keep the numbers current, because an outdated kit hurts more than no kit.

The five things every media kit needs

  1. Who you are, in one line. “Food and travel creator in Austin, cooking for busy people.” Then a photo that looks like your content.
  2. Your audience. Followers per platform, and the people behind the numbers: where they live, their age range, and what they care about. Your platforms’ own analytics show this.
  3. Proof. Average views or engagement on recent posts, plus two or three past brand collaborations with a result if you have one (“1,200 link clicks in a week”).
  4. What you offer. The kinds of content you make for brands: a TikTok video, an Instagram Reel, a story set, a YouTube mention, photos the brand can reuse.
  5. How to reach you. One clear way: an email or a contact form. Add how fast you usually reply.

Should you list your rates?

Creators disagree, and both choices work. Listing “starting at” prices saves time with brands that can’t afford you. Keeping rates off the kit lets you price each deal by its size and usage rights. A middle path: list what you offer, say “rates on request,” and keep a separate rate card to send after the first reply.

What to leave out

A live page beats a PDF

A PDF is out of date the day after you send it, and it can’t play your videos. A live page always shows your latest numbers and work, opens on any phone, and can include a contact form so the brand replies right there. Share the same link in every pitch.

On ODDBOX, a media kit sits on your page as its own view: followers per platform, your rates (only if you add them), and brands you’ve worked with, next to the work they’re hiring you for. It’s free, and you update it in the same editor as your page.
